From the pharmacists to the clerks, the entire team at Lake Murray Drug Company takes pride in listening to each person who comes through their doors. Owners Justin and Shannon Carter have intentionally fostered this caring, vibrant environment, and it sets them apart from other pharmacies in the area.
Originally from the local area, Justin and Shannon met while working together at an independent pharmacy. This experience fueled their vision to one day start their own independent pharmacy. They launched Lake Murray Drug Company in 2018, beginning with the first location in Chapin.
The Carters then set their sights on Irmo. Justin previously worked for a large chain pharmacy here, and he was eager to reconnect with the local community. Lake Murray Drug Company opened its Irmo store in 2021 on Palmetto Wood Parkway. Despite the timing with the COVID-19 pandemic, the new site quickly took off.
